Groups
PLPC's groups mostly find common ground in food, but also through music and other pursuits.
Join a group today. If you're not fed with a meal, you will definitely get some spiritual nourishment in getting to know people just like you.
Ladies Lunch Bunch
Women (working and retired, members and friends of the church) have a casual lunch once a month at various restaurants around town. Sometimes they tour interesting places like the Saturn plant and Cracker Barrel headquarters, or the Factory at Franklin, but most often they just meet for a ladies day out at lunch. They meet the 3rd Thursday of each month at the church at 10:15 a.m. and carpool to some good grub. They also collect money each outing to donate to Second Harvest. Contact Shirley Hansel to receive updates. |
Men of the Church
The men meet the 3rd Saturday of each month at 8:00 a.m. for breakfast and discussion. They sponsor a huge Labor Day BBQ, a fish fry, and other special mission projects. Contact Jim Gracy at 361-6680 for more info. |
Salt Shakers
Got salt? This adult supper group includes members and friends of the church (singles or couples) who get together once a month for an informal dinner and fellowship at a host's home. The host provides the main dish and beverages, while the guests bring side dishes and desserts. The host sets the time and coordinates with the guests so there aren't 10 broccoli casseroles. (Variety is the spice of life.) Call Gloria Kimbro to participate or sign up to receive announcements. Spice up your life. |
Walkers
With all the food we eat, the more conscientious members of our groups walk it off Monday through Friday at 8:15 a.m. - 9:00 a.m., in our gym. No need to contact anyone. Just show up and walk! The American Academy of Family Physicians' Americans in Motion initiative recommends eating 100 fewer calories a day and adding 2000 steps each day until you get to 10,000 steps per day. Are you getting your steps? |
Youth
Whether you are in kindergarten or high school, there is a place for you at PLPC! Learn more about our youth. |
Choir
The choir at PLPC strives to bring the love of God to the worship service in song using genres ranging from Rambo and Gaither to Handel and Bach; Moses Hogan to John Stainer. The choir performs a cantata each Advent season and special music at Easter. They perform an anthem during the Sunday morning service. If you are interested in participating in the music program at PLPC, please contact the church office at 366-0247. |
