Priest Lake Presbyterian operates with both a church staff and team of dedicated volunteers.
Staff
Rev. Paul Burns
Rev.
Paul Martin Burns was installed as pastor at PLPC August of 2007. Paul
and his wife Jennifer come to us from Austin, Texas where Paul
completed his Master of Divinity at Austin Presbyterian Theological
Seminary. Prior to responding to the call of minister of Word and
Sacrament Paul worked as the regional retirement planning consultant
for Fidelity Investments in New York City. Paul grew up in Norman,
Oklahoma and attended the University of Oklahoma where he received a
bachelor's degree in music.
Susan Rowell, Church Secretary
Susan
Rowell was born and raised in Nashville where she lived with her
parents and two older sisters. Susan comes to us after working for 31
years at BellSouth where she started working at the age of 17 and after
retiring in 2004. She has been married for 20 years to her husband
Henry. She enjoys spending time at home with her husband and 2 dogs and
also enjoys cooking. She enjoys sports and really enjoys Nascar racing
and watching the Tennessee Titans. She has been secretary at PLPC for 1
1/2 years and really loves her job and enjoys spending time with the
congregation.
Joel Hutchinson, Music Director
Born
in Truth or Consequences, NM (T or C to native New Mexicans), Joel
graduated in 2004 from Tennessee Sate University with a degree in Music
Education and has served PLPC as Music Director for the past 6 years.
He is a member of the Nashville Opera chorus and is the Technical
Director for the Opera in the Schools program for elementary schools.
Susan Jones, Organist
Leesa Fields, Youth Director
I joined the church in 1993 and accepted the job as Youth Director the
same year. The high school youth group started in 1994 and the CareS
Program began in fall of 2002. I led the high school youth group for 14
years and currently I'm the youth leader for middle school youth group.
My
husband Dale and I have 2 grown kids, Rachel and Matthew. I grew up in
the mid west but consider myself a "native" of Tennessee.
I
feel I was called by God to the job I have with the church. I know my
love of kids and years of experience in other organizations working
with kids was God's way of preparing me for this job.
Earl Hutchinson, Lay Pastor
Earl Hutchinson is a commissioned Lay Pastor
in the Presbyterian Church USA. He earned a BS degree in
Engineering-Physics from the University of Tennessee in 1950 and spent
50 years in diversified engineering and management in Atomic Energy,
Space, industrial, and consulting fields.
Earl founded a successfully operating Engineering Specialty Company
with offices in multiple locations and retired after 25 years in 2000.
In addition,
• 75 + years Studying, Praying, Teaching, Seeking, Serving, and Worshiping GOD through Jesus Christ.
• 70 + years ago received our Triune GOD'S saving GRACE.
• Initially worshiped and served in Baptist and Methodist Denominations.
• Past 15 years as a Presbyterian with study and detailed knowledge of tenets held.
• Studying, Teaching, Seeking, Serving, and Proclaiming the Word.
• 12 + years Ordained Presbyterian Elder, since January 1995.
• 7 + years, since October 2000 as Commission Lay Pastor after
completing year long study course. Also Presbytery sponsored continuing
education seminars.
• 5 years regular study PCUSA Company of Pastors guides.
Now,
2007, his wife has been with the Lord for 8 years and his birth family
has extended into the fourth generation and all including spouses
profess to know our GOD'S SAVING GRACE with the children being nurtured
in that direction.
