The mission of the youth ministry at PLPC is to:
• Create a welcoming, fun, and safe learning environment for the children and youth of our community
• Call them to be disciples of Christ
• Empower them to teach, serve, and share the love of Jesus Christ as they honor God's world.

The acolytes are children ages 7 years and older who participate in the worship service by bringing in the light at the beginning of the service by lighting the candles. At the end of the service, they take the light out into the world. Phil Hereford directs the acolytes. When a child expresses interest, he or she is trained and then paired with an experienced acolyte the first time.
Konnect is a Sunday night program for all children, Pre-K to 12th grade, meeting every Sunday 5:30 to 7:30pm during the school year. Kids participate in organized recreation, family-style dinner, and devotions. Devotions are split up by grade elementary, middle school, and high school.
This youth-driven project is the church's biggest mission. We collect food, clothing, toiletries, and learning bags to distribute to an impoverished community in the Appalachian mountain area of Kentucky. [More]
