Welcome to CareS, where Children are Special!
CareS is a Wednesday night program for all children, Pre-K - 12th grade, meeting twice per month (on Wednesdays; see church calendar for all dates) during the school year. Kids participate in organized recreation, music, bible time and a family-style dinner. We offer a monitored homework room available instead of recreation (5:30-6:00 p.m.) for any students needing to do schoolwork. Individual reading tutoring for 1st-3rd graders is also available with advanced arrangements. The High School program meets in the church cabin, but the teenagers will join the younger group for closing prayer.

CareS EVENING SCHEDULE
5:30-6:00 p.m. Recreation or Homework
6:00-6:30 p.m. Music in Sanctuary & Bathroom Break
6:30-7:00 p.m. Dinner
7:00-7:45 p.m. Class Time
7:50-8:00 p.m. Gather in gym: announcements & closing prayer
8:00 p.m. Dismissal

ARRIVAL & DEPARTURE
Children may be dropped-off and picked-up at the back gym door. For your child's safety, please understand we will not let children out of the building until you pull up to the door for pick-up. We dismiss promptly at 8:00 p.m., but all adults are invited to join us for closing prayer in the gym at 7:50 p.m.

FEES
We ask for a $3 fee per child per night, if possible, to cover meal costs; however, no child will be turned away for inability to pay. For your convenience, you may pay for the entire semester at the beginning of each semester. Please make checks payable to: PLPC CareS.

SNOW POLICY
Our policy regarding bad weather will follow Metro Schools. If Metro is out or dismissed early on a CareS Wednesday, we DO NOT meet.

WHAT WE NEED FROM PARENTS
We ask parents/grandparents/guardians to help with the program TWO nights per semester for each child, if possible. It takes a lot of manpower to operate the CareS Program, and we certainly need your help. Primarily, help is needed for dinner, with food preparation and clean-up. Anyone helping prepare dinner should arrive at 5:30 p.m. If you cannot arrive that early, the clean-up crew arrives by 6:30 p.m.
