transition – To everything there is a season. Ecclesiastes 3:1

transition – To everything there is a season. Ecclesiastes 3:1

It was with much sadness that we said goodby to Cindy Schwartz whom we had grown to love and respect over her seven-year tenure. She has moved on to a church near a first grandchild. We have wished pastor and her family much joy in their new life.

Change is never easy so we are in a season of prayer and discernment as we work through the process of calling a new pastor. The Elders of the congregation are supported by the Presbytery of Middle Tennessee. The roadmap is a process that is based on successful transitions.

PLPC is fortunate to have students of theology in our congregation who will lead many of our worship services. We have ordained ministers working with us as well. In time we will secure a dedicated interim pastor.

Our journey will continue under the leadership of our interim pastor. We will have time for introspection to discern our strengths and opportunities When we have prayerfully found our vision for the future, we will form a ‘Pastor Nominating Committee’ who will serve the congregation by working with the Presbytery to seek qualified candidates who match our vision for PLPC.

Our journey won’t end when we call our new Pastor; but it will begin a new chapter. We are looking forward to a bright, energetic future. God has formed this congregation, He has protected us, and led us according to His divine plan. We are the church and with God’s providence we will thrive.

We pray: Strengthen us to be your Church in all times and seasons of life – a place where all are truly welcomed and embraced in your love; a place where we find ways you are active among us and calling us to join in your saving work; a place where the story of your love and grace and mercy are embodied. In the name of Jesus, we pray.  Amen
