Worship

Worship

Worship at PLPC is centered on Christ, the Living Word of God. We confess that Jesus is the “who” and “why” of our lives. We believe in including ancient elements like written prayers, scripture readings, and hymns plus new offerings, like contemporary songs with violin or cello. Sermons are practical and always include ideas for how to live the gospel, not just talk about it. We hope to engage people’s imagination in the narrative of God’s story, which is our story. We encourage lay leadership in the service and often hear testimonies of where God is active in the lives of this church. The passing of the peace typically turns into a lengthy time of hugs and check-ins because the people of PLPC love each other.

Children are always welcome in the sanctuary during worship. We also provide childcare in the nursery for your convenience.

Communion

Communion is offered the first Sunday of each month. All are welcome to God’s table. PLPC serves both wine and juice as well as regular and gluten-free bread.

Music

We sing certain songs each week, like the Gloria Patri to praise God and the Doxology in thanks for our blessings. Our worship, while traditional in some ways, blends hymns and more current songs. We have a choir and soloists, Isaac Watts compositions and possibly the blues or some Johnny Cash.

Live Stream

Our service is livestreamed on our Facebook Page and YouTube Channel.  To receive a copy of the bulletin each week via email, contact the office.
